Windshield Wiper Gremlin
Thanks for the great information. I had this problem, and this seemed to do the trick. It just came back after about 4-5 days, but not nearly as bad as it was before.
I will have to open it back up and make sure that I didn't goop the new dielectric lube on too thick.

Bump.
I was doing an internet search and found a TSB for this issue (I think it was for 1999 and 2000 F150's). It indicated that there was a redesigned multi-switch to fix the problem (after checking for loose connections, etc).
I'm changing out my multi-switch this week-end. My wipers work find but the washer is hit and miss (more like miss, miss, miss, hit) and when I flip in the right turn signal the high beam flash to pass feature is activated.

Not sure if mine is the same problem, I am going to go try to clean it now. My wipers will not come on at all, there is a clicking noise around the glove box as if they are turning on, but they do not move. Any other suggestions??
Glad I found this post....my 97 F150 has the same wiper problem. A new problem that came up is now the wipers will not work at all and the dome light will not come on. Are the wipers and dome light on the same circuit? They both came on again the other day....but are now off again so I know it is not a fuse. Help please....just waiting for the rain...and no wipers.
