Part number for 130 amp Motorcraft alternator?

Hi-

I need teh part number fro the 130 amp alternator that comes stock with the 4.6L w/ tow package. If anyone has this accessable, I'd appreciate it. I just called Ford and they said that they don't make the 130 amp anymore (now it's 115 amp). Sounds kind weird, huh!

Thanks.

Just went to the alternator shop and exchanged my dead 130 amp for one that works. He had them rebuilt on the shelf. Costly though, one dollar per amp ($130). Did'nt care about price, needed truck fixed that day. You most likely can do better on price elsewhere as stated above.

Brand New from Fordpartsonline:

For the 4.6Lengine, 130 amp alternator $186.66 MSRP : $233.33
Look under the Collision catalog when finding it. Electrical -> Alternator -> 4.6L.

Fordpartsnetwork.com : same way to get to it, 130 amp Ford Alternator 193.66 MSRP : 233.33

I looked under 2001 year for these.
So it seems that Ford parts places still have them. you can call Gay Star at Fordpartsonline.com and ask him about it, if you have a question on it.

That is if you want to pay the coin for brand new direct from Ford.
I don't know if you want that or not. I don't know about buying it on eBay for 50 some dollars if that is new or rebuilt, or if the saving 50 some dollars from a local rebuilt shop is your thing.

Either way, call a parts place that knows which end is up and ask them.

Good luck

Steve

The one I got off eBay was brand spankin new. It was a take off from a new truck or van conversion company. The were taking off the 130 amp alternators and getting the high output ones for ambulances etc.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2416111850

I did have to swap the pully off my old 95 amp alternator as it had the bigger pully. No big deal.

I suppose I should list my old 95 amp alternator on eBay for $20. There's noting wrong with it. I just wanted more amps since I got the eFans and I got a stereo system too.

HI-

Just ordered my PPI dual fan kit from Mike. I'm out the door, now, for the alternator. I'm just going to get a new one @ Ford. I can get it for wholesale, so it should sve me a buck or two.

Thanks for your suggestions!!!

Got the alternator at Ford. They are now listed as "115 Amp (same as 130 Amp)." What the heck does this mean? According to the Ford dude, it is the same part. I must be loosing my marbles. The part number is:

F7PZ-10346-KARM1 and it is re-manned!

Mete-

Congrats on you new truck! Yes, the V-6's come with 130 amp alternators. The trucks with the towing packages (V8's) have it, too. It's just when you go to buy a replacment or an upgrade and you have a V-8 that you run into problems. The only replacment alternator Ford sells is a factory re-man'd 130 amp. But the confusion comes when their computer screen says "115 amp (same as 130 amp)." It's just an annoying confusion. I spoke with Mike T. and he said that that is just another Ford numbers game, and that all the 115 Amp alternators are really still 130 amp. So, I'm just not going to worry about it. I wish Ford would make a "NEW" replacment alternator, though.
