tachometer

I have a 2002 xl with just a speedo, would I be able to swap it out for a gauge set up with the tach. Is all the wiring there? Do I need to hook up any other sensors?

There is another way. Here is mine mounted on the dash. You can get them to fit into gage clusters that fit on the window column. These are more accurate then the factory tachs.

I guess I should really read all the posts before I post one of my own, Tennman actually asked the same question as me not 10 posts before me, but thanks to the ones that answered me all the same I appreciate it.

mbuechler,

I was just too lazy to re-type in all in, that is why I linked the other thread.

For the headaches and $$ associated with trying to swap the cluster, you can either do :

Tach Like WLFs.
A Steering Cloumn Pod ( autometer 15004 or the one for the SuperDuty ) but using a 2-1/16" Tach ( kind of costly ?)
A 2-1/16" Tach cut into the right hand side of the steering column surround, in a how to at FTW.

Even though the 2-1/16" tachs are a little more expensive then the larger ones, it is cheap when compared to the new gauge panel and HEC from the dealer with all the other work involved.

Good Luck.
