Question XM Radio Install - Which Cirucuit?

Truck = 2002 F-150 SuperCrew XLT.

I jumped in and installed a Delphi XM satellite radio system last weekend and am loving it. At first, I tapped into the radio circuit so the unit would turn on and off with the ignition. Now I read that that's not the preferred way to shut the head off - they want you to use the 'power' button so it shuts down properly. OK, so I tap into another circuit that's live regardless of the ignition status (the mirror adjustment circut). Now I shut the truck off and the radio stays on, just like I wanted. Only thing is, when I start the truck up, this circuit is interrupted while the engine cranks over, shutting the XM off.

Cut to the chase, you say? OK: Does anyone know of a circuit accessable via the interior fues panel that's live 24/7, and that doesn't get interrupted when the engine cranks?

Thanks much!

Interesting, I haven't checked the wiring on my new truck but my older vehicles always had a BATT connection on the fusebox that didn't lose power when cranking it over, thats why the radio doesn't lose its settings when you crank the car over. Usually both the IGN and ACC terminals are shut off during cranking, but I doubt you've used those, since both would shut off when you turn the car off.

I guess they must wire the new trucks differently than I'm used to.

If you find the memory lead on the stock HU you should be able to tap in there, as long as its a large enough wire to support the load of the radio and the XM (and the fuse is right).
