power window works intermittantly
On my '94 F-250 the driver's side window will only go down about half the time. When it's down it will always go up though. I have tried swapping out the switch with a known good one to no avail. Sometimes it works and other times not. Any ideas.
Thanks in advance.

Sounds like the wire from the switch to the motor possibly. Follow the wire from the switch back to the motor, then test the wire, or run a jumper wire from the switch to the motor in place of it...
On my 92, the problem was inside the window motor. I took the motor off and took it apart - there was a loose rivet on a metal piece that went from one terminal where power comes into the motor to the motor windings - current had to flow through the rivet to the part it was riveted to. I restaked the rivet and soldered over it as well. Use a voltmeter or a lightbulb to see if power is getting to the motor before you pull it out of the door.

I've had a similar problem. Whenever I go through a car wash my 4x4 & Low Range indicators will occationally blink & then the driver side window will only go up. I have found that if I turn of the engine & restart it the problem will go away until the next time the 4x4 lights blink again. This'll go on for a few days & then quit until the next time I go through a car wash. I hear a relay type click under the dash when the indicator lights blink.
My solution - quit going through car washes & wash my truck the right way.
Hope this helps
