new guy: '97 f150 install ???s
Hi guys, I'm new here looking for a little help. Info about my cars and stereo is on my site in sig if you're interested.
Anyways, I'm installing my friends stereo into his '97 f150 extended cab truck. He's already got subs and an amp, everything else is stock. He had the subs installed by Best Buy and they did a ****ty job, so I'm thinking I might have to rewire everything they did.
1. I'm looking for a wiring diagram or something of the truck?
2. Is there a place to run a power wire through the firewall like my Camaro, or is there actually a plug for it?
3. I beleive his car as the "premium" stereo, anyways it's coming out for some kind of Sony cdplayer which will be updated in a couple months. Do I need a special adapter kit for the wiring harness?
And anything else I should look out for would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

there is no plug in the fire wall that goes dircitly into the engine compartment, when I did my radio and subs we used a radio intall kit for the radio, it comes with a filler plate and wire harness. for the subs there is a rubber gasket on the floor on the passanger side and thats where we ran the power cord in and out of the cab, and ran the power wire for the sub under the plastic door sill on the floor it just snaps off, and we ran the wire form the radio to the subs under the plastic door sill plate on the drivers side, it is a very simple process, it took 3 hours to install my subs and radio, and we screwed the subs to the floor to keep it from moving around. this is in my 1997 F250 LD, which is the same body/cab has the 1997 f-150
