Unhappy Fog lights out - Ford tech's (jefflaws) I need Help

In an earlier post I was asking about adding autolamp becuse I was going to probably have to replace the headlight switch.

This is because I think something is wrong with it.

My fog's won't come on. The indicatror comes on, but that's it. I have checked the fuses and I think that the relay is also fine.

I went throught the procedure in the repair cd, and if I did it right it said that the switch is bad. That is what I figured before.

Any help on this?

I'm not sure what to tell you but, I would suggest this...

1st, double check the fuses one more time. Just make sure...

If they are in good shape, my next stop would be my local junkyard. As long as the Expy & F150 have been around, you're bound to find one sitting in a vehicle and should be able to pick it up dirt cheap.

I just snagged a switch for my power slider (the Factory switch) that retailed from an online parts house for around $50 shipped ($50, for a TINY switch). I went to the local junkyard and nabbed it, with a harness, for $15!! Needless to say, I walked out with a big

I have to agree about going to a junkyard.

I already had planned to do that this weekend.

Well between the snow and the bad drivers and this fog light thing I just might snap soon.

If anyone can help please do. I would take it to the dealer, but I am afraid that they will blame it on the remote start or something.

The new switch did not help. As far as I can tell both bulbs and such are fine.

You Ford tech's (jefflaws) this is where I am begging for help.

Dumb question from me....

Did you test it back to the head light switch, or the multi function switch ?

This is what I have done so far and what I know:

I have checked all the fuses listed in the owners manual for fog lights and they are fine. I also checked the relay by using the horn one in the same socket and it still didn't help.

Both lights are out. The amber indicator does come on by the switch when I turn on the fog's.

I followed this procedure from the shop cd I have. I am not totaly sure that I did it right.

I also put a new headlight switch in that didn't help.

Sorry to hear about your troubles, electric problems are so much fun.

Which shop CD is the information from? I'd like to get one, where'd you get it?

I've been having a problem with a fuse blowing (#29, 5A mini) on my 1998 F-150 XLT. It doesn't do it all the time, just about every two-three days I loose power to my guages when shifting into reverse. I think it's the transmission reverse switch but am unsure of how to test it.

I got it off of ebay.

In another post I said that I could make people a copy for 6 bucks to cover the cost of the cd and shipping.

I guess another question if nobody can help with the problem. I think that I am going to take it to the dealer.

Since 90% of the people on the site have mods, what should I do if they say that it had something to do with the remote start getting put on by BestBuy?

Well if doesn't just **** me off

After all of that trying to figure out what was wrong I took it in.

The called me shortly and told me that it was the bulbs.

I had upgraded to the silverStar ones.

I was going to ask more but then he said that everything was covered since they were factory and all. I didn't want to press and end up paying for it.

Has this happened to anyone else? I looked at the bulbs when this all started and they seemed just fine.
