Interior Lighting/Power Mirrors

I am having a problem with a 94 F-150 XLT. When you open the driver door the interior light does not come on, yet it works from the passenger side or from the dome light control. At the same time, my power mirrors don't work. Fuses are okay. Could this problem be linked? Are there any fixes I can try?

Thanks for your help.

Mark

Not really my area (1994), but if you will accept a WAG, here goes:

My guess is that the power harness that runs between the cab and the door has either become crimped and/or damaged from repeatedly opening and closing of the door. You should be able to expose the wires by peeling back the boot covering the cables. Hope you have access to heated garage.
