Post KR keypad problems?

Hey I kinda came up on a problem with the 2003 KR keypad on the driverside door? When i first got the truck the keypad was working fine, i typed the 5 digit code and it oped the door. Yesturday i tried it and it doesnt work? I been using the pressure washer alot because of the snow/salt we get in canada, can it be that water got into the keypad? another strange thing is that when I press a number the lights on the keypad and inside the truck turn on, so does that mean the connection is fine? Maybe the keypad has just been disabled? is there a way to enable it once again? Thx for the replies.

when you push the [7-8] and [9-0] buttons together, do the doors lock properly? If so, I would say it is connected.

Did you program a personal code or were you using the factory code? If you programmed a personal code, its possible that you typed a key sequence wrong and it erased the code (happened to me once).

Also, mine gets very wet all the time with no ill effects.

I believe that, in order to de-activate the keypad, you would need a trip to the dealer and they would need to reprogram the system not to recognize it.

You are correct that the factory code is permanent. I ask again: when you push the [7-8] and [9-0] buttons together, do the doors lock properly?

If the two buttons Lock the doors properly and the lights scome on, I would hazard that something is wrong that will reqire a trip to the dealer.

Perhaps the code on the little plastic card is wrong

Look for the label on the GEM under the dash to see if the code printed on there is the same as the factory code you have.

I don't have a keypad on my truck, but would think that it would be nearly impossible for the keypad to get damaged by either water from the washing the truck or water from something else, unless, it was a terribly bad storm or something. I agree with RockPick though, since it is an 03 I assume it is still under warranty and they should be able to fix it. Just my two cents.
