Question Signal light mirrors

Hi from a "newbie" to the board. I just got my hands on a set of signal light mirrors for my F150 XLT. Anybody have any ideas about the installation or wiring hookup? Naturally, they came with no instructions cuz they're used. I'm wondering if this is gonna be a big project, or can a simpleton like me do the job? hehehe.

FC26,

If you are talking about the Muth type signal mirros ( the arrow in the glass type ) then you coudl try the instructions at Muth.

www.muthco.com then look up the signal mirrors for the truck type you have, then download the PDF.

If you are talking about the new style Ford Signal mirrors that are the different heads, then the instructions above would help in taking apart the door and mirror, then just install the mirror head in place of the ones you have, connect the wiring harness ( shown in the muth instructions ) and reassemble the door.

They are not bad at all to put on, just take your time doing it so the door panel goes back on without breaking a clip.

Let me know if this answers your question.

Do all the new trucks come with the blinker lights in them now?

I've seen a lot of trucks with them recently.

The XLT's come with the wiring already in the door. Not sure on the XL, but I don't think it does. I did this mod on my 2000 HD F150. Piece of cake to do.

Hope it works out alright ( that they are not a different mfgr ), and like myself you found that they are WAY cheaper then the new style Ford signal mirrors, where the signal is on the edge of the glamor cap.

If they are Muth brand, they would say Muth Signal USA on them at the bottom of the glass or the older ones, say Signal Mirror, Muth Co. ( or something similar to that ).

Else just check the polarity of the leads ( if they are a different mfgr ) with the batt, to know which is pos and neg. If you are missing the contact pins, just splice it on the wire behind the connector.

As harleyrules said : Piece of cake to do.

Enjoy them.
