Posted this in the drivetrain forum, but got no responses. The other day after using 4wd in the snow my 4x4 dash light is now always on. All the ranges work, 2hi, 4hi and 4lo, but the light won't go out in 2wd. Anybody have this happen? It's a 97F150 with auto tranny and the manual shifter on the floor. any help would be great. Thanks.

Did you find problem? If not and you haven't done this..find the 4wd indicator switch which is mounted in the transfer case.

Look for the elect.wire/harness going to switch. Maybe it got damaged/bad connection/bad switch?

Thanks for the info. Today when i got in the truck the light was off. I think i got snow in the connector you are talking about and it finally melted out. It's been too cold to crawl under and take a look. As soon as some warm weather comes along(probably May) i'll take a look.
