Question LCD Digital themometer

About a week ago my outdoor thermometer started giving bogus readings. Is there a sensor that needs replaced or something? The compus seems to be accurate. Thanks for any help and advice.

I am having the same problem, it reads about 7 degrees too high all the time but does change with the outside temp. If it is 32 out it reads 39 and if it is 21 outside it reads 28. It is consistently bad. I noticed it soon after going through the car wash on a 50 degree day. Does anyone know how to get to the sensor? I am wondering if there is water in the connector for the sensor driven in there by the high pressure shot from the car wash.

Thanks

The sensor is in front, to the right ( drivers side ) of the hood latch, by the edge of the grill. You would need to take off the black plastic rad. cover ( under the tire bar ) to get to it.

If this is the case, you might be able to just swap the sensor, and be back to normal readings. maybe ???...never can tell

Question LCD Thermometer

I have a 2000 f-150 xlt extended cab 4x4, I am having the same problem with mine. Does anybody know is it easy to replace the sensor? Can you buy it aftermarket or do you have to go to a dealer? It is drving me nuts.
