If it is the service department's version of a "permanent" fix, I'd Take a picture and send it to ford and raise big time hell.
If it is temporary, till the proper part comes in, that's another thing and i don't see a problem with it. Providing it is done in a save way....for a day or two. Beats walking.

this was a permanent fix.I had a bag get stuck under it and was quite suprised at what they had rigged up.I sent pocks to ford and called it was a waste of time John Cortese blo### goats I have picks to prove it

The gas tank strap recall on the 97-03 requires that they use a cable kit for reinforcement if the straps are okay, and may be used for a TEMPORARY repair of broken straps until they can get new straps. Coat hangers are NOT acceptable.
