Dont buy at Cross Roads, Cary NC
Dont buy at Cross Roads, Cary NC
Recently purchased 4X4 05 F-150 from Cross Roads Ford in Cary, NC and boy did I get it in the end. Let me start first of all by saying that I love my truck. I also liked the deal I got on the truck, 6k miles at purchase and under $25K with 75k extended warranty. Not usually being one to bash or whine, I just don't want any one else to make the mistake that I made by purchasing from a large volume high sales dealership. So it took several things to get me to this point.
First problem came when I recieved my payment statement in the mail. When I signed the papers my loan papers said Wachovia Bank. My statement says WFS Financial who are in no way affiliated with Wachovia.
#2 When I went back to get second key, remote and keypad entry code, I was sent "across town" to the service department. Upon arrival there at 10am I had to explain what I was there for. Guy brings my truck back from some undisclosed area behind vast facility with entry code at 12 o'clock and informs me that new key is truck in service write up area. Get in truck, NO REMOTE. I go back inside only to have to call sales dept "across town" to verify authorization of remote at no charge.
#3 Wednesday before thanksgiving 6pm tranmission breaks severely. Call Ford Roadside Assistance, wrecker shows up 45 min later ready to tow truck to local home town stealership. I request truck be taken to Cary, (selling dealer 60miles), Frd Rdsd Asst will only tow 35 miles or closest dealer. I call Cross Roads service and sales and no "manager" available to authorize extended tow or reimbursment of additional tow fee. Mind you that its less than 40 degrees. Tow truck driver recommends "Lee Motor Co." of Wilson NC because he too is aware of the rep. of the local stealership. 8pm truck on it's way to Wilson. I call Cross Roads on Friday to get advice of how they want this handled, understand that I was told that I should bring truck to them for all services because they take care of their customers. My first call on Friday is my salesman ........ he tells me to call service and "ask for a manger", but not inform them that he gave me this info. So I did. I am put on hold by one of the service writers and after 8-10 min I hang up and call back. At which time I get informed that no mangers are in today being that it's Thanksgiving Friday. I get in touch with some managers on Monday only to have them tell me that if the truck needs to be towed then "it is more convenient for ME to have it fixed locally". Well needless to say I gave him a good piece of advice also what he could kiss and or suck, I may have even mentioned some thing about him and his mon having sex.
Lee Motor got me a rental and fixed the trans along with a torn drivers seat cover and defective passengers saftey belt. I will buy from there from now on.

it seems to me that by refering to the "stealership" you are already forming a negative opionion. if you read your paperwork about roadside it says that towing is limited in mileage and any additional expense is your responsability. and because you have an extended warranty you can take it to any ford dealer you want. why would you want to take your truck back to the dealer that couldnt handle something as simple as a remote for a complex job like repairing an auto trans anyway?
