Ordering a new truck

Hello
I had ordered a new 2006 F-150 in May and backed out at the last moment. My question is, they said they could/Would not lock in the current rebates because the rebates might expire by the time my new truck arrived. My thoughts are that I am buying the truck on the day that I sign the order. I need to know what the truck will cost when I order it not what it will cost in six to eight weeks. What should I do about this the next time?

When I ordered my truck they said that the current rebates would apply...however, if by the time I took delivery there were better or more rebates those would be applied...I would not get any less rebates...in other words it would only get better not worse..
