Horrible service
Horrible service
TO ALL IN ARIZONA...........
Most people in Arizona might have already discovered, if not read and if you plan on moving here again read. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM EARNHARDT FORD. The service department is the worst I have ever experienced. They will find every possible way to stick you with the bill and somehow seem to get away with it. Did I get stuck?.........NO. I caught on to the scam and left....to never return.

I took my truck to the service department because the alarm they installed had short circuited my power door locks when the alarm was set off. I took my truck to the dealer and in 5 minutes they return and say that both switches and actuators are bad at a cost of $400. The passenger door would unlock for a bit and thats it. The drivers side completely inop. I went to a stereo installer and had him look at it he found that after a few times the fuse would blow. He was able to narrow it to a short between the module and the fuse box. I returned to the dealer and spoke to the manager and informed him of what both his tech's and the installer had said. The manager then said they will have to shoot the wires at a cost of minimum of $180 then the cost to repair. This is only 7 months after purchasing a "Certified" pre-owned.........so much for the 152 point check. warranty?....I thought so.......I spoke with many other dealers in the area and they said that a certified is warrantied for a year by the dealer.....except this dealer.....

that wouldn't fall under the vehicle warranty.
If the dealer installed it after the fact, there should be a warranty of 6 months to a year (typical warranties) on the parts and labor for that specific item. Get the original receipt for the alarm installation and have them repair it based on that.
And did you read the warranty coverage? Was a dealer installed alarm listed among the 152 items checked? Does it state that it's a bumper-to-bumper warranty or just major components?
You might call this a scam, but many, many used car sellers engage in these practices.
Caveat Emptor.

I wash my hands with it all. I talked to a guy that rewires the locks straight to the module. He even charges half the price. My mission in life now is to let the world know that the the dealer in question is CRAP!!!!!. If you want more info, type in the dealer on your favorite search engine and read all the other complaints. This is the first on this site and I am sure there will be more from other owners who had issues.

You're doing the right thing. There are many honest dealers, but just as many crooked. Especially with used vehicles. It's probably more hassle than it's worth to continue dealing with those guys.
Good luck in the repair. I hope it works out for you.
