Hi!

Hi,
I'm pretty new to the ford scene. I've been a long time chevy guy till one day some bozo tried to drive up under my K1500, totalling it. I was pretty sure that my next truck would be a newer one, but not brand new.
My wife drives a 99 Expedition and sometimes I get to drive it too :). I felt that the F150's look the best, so after searching long and hard, I finally found my red 99 XLT 4x4, Ext-Cab. It only had 20K miles on it and in awesome condition except for the ride. It felt like I was driving on Goodrich mud slingers (no offense) !! I rotated those AT/S's last night and it's as smooth as the Expy.

Anyway, my old chevy had pretty good rumble behind its 350HO, (excuse me while I get a tissue), so the first think I'm gonna do is upgrade the exhaust, not sure how far back I'm gonna go, but since this truck has 2 cats right after the exhaust manifolds, I figure a good xpipe setup will do.

I'm glad I found this board. Looks to be full of great info. I'll be on everyday!

Roland

New Truck Owner...return to Gear head status ?

Hi to all, I'm a new truck owner for the last 3 weeks ! I've been browsing the boards and registered a few days ago. The info provided on these boards is amazing. I used to work on my Mustangs (68C and 85GT) but got hooked on golf about 6 years ago and haven't really touched a wrench sense. Forgot to mention the getting married part and all the home remodeling that went with it (almost done). I drove a '95 Grand Marquis LS (nice ride) for 4 years and vowed not to work on it a bit....that lasted for 3.5 years until the rotars warped and the power window motors and regulators started dropping like flies. Well, my wife decided a month ago she had heard enough grumbling about not having a truck, so we went shopping. I already knew what I wanted so that was easy. What a cool ride ! :) The color really looks good on the truck. I'm getting a Rhino next week along with bug and rain deflectors. By the way, the Rhino installer noticed damage between the bed and cabin, so he wouldn't install.....been at the dealer all week. :( But they are fixing it, way to go Byerley Ford. I've been having DTs all week and managed to order the volant filter/box and Gibson 3" cat back to try and get the mileage up (what I told the wife :D ). Next are the headers (don't care what anybody says, headers time the exhaust and are better than stock blockers), underdrive pulleys, and then I'm gonna superchip the rascal. By then the ride will be intolerable and shocks and sway bars will be coming. Oh no, I'm baaaack at it again. Hey, wonder why my wife wanted me to get a truck ???? Probably a deck or something, oh well, I'm happily distracted for now. Thanks to the admins and posters ! Dave

hmustang, thanks for the reply. I got the Gibson Catback put on today and I like the pep and the sound. I haven't reset the computer yet, but I'm happy as a 2 peter puppy. :D I really enjoy browsing the msg boards, they're very informative. I'll wait for some cooler weather before putting on the headers. Enough is enough for a while. My wife already thinks I'm nuts. Dave

Join the club!

My wife thinks I'm nuts, too. She won't hardly even ride in my truck anymore after the exhaust mod (too loud she says). Is that a good thing?

Welcome aboard!
