Microtuner and gas
Hey mike for christmas I am getting the Microtuner,
woohoo finally... I live in the dallas area and was wondering what fuels give the best results? I am looking for performance as well as MPG. Any of you that live in the area as well I would love to hear your experiences with gas too.

Hi Quadkeys,
It's been a little while since we saw you around here!
Fuel quality in Dallas is an issue, as areas in Texas like DFW & Houston have particularly poor air quality, & thus reformulated fuels with a lower energy content.
I'd say to use Amoco's premium gas where you are, as Texaco isn't doing as good a job in that area as it used to a few years ago.
I'd probably pick Amoco as first choice, then Chevron as second choice, with Citgo and possibly Shell as a tie for 3rd. Shell and Citgo both work pretty well here in the East, further out West, like the west coast, Shell isn't doing nearly as good a job, so I'm not sure how it will be there in DFW. I don't know if Conoco would be good there, in some areas it is a good fuel, and there is a member here who works for them & goes by the screen name "Conocoan" here on F-150 Online.
If you happen to have access to Sunoco's Ultra 94 octane premium, that would be ideal, as it's usually a good high octane & high energy fuel.
The main thing is to steer clear of all the off-brands & no-names, and no Exxon, either.
That should help a bit, & I'm sure others in that area will chime in with some of their results as well.
By the way, I see you have the DIrect Hits ignition upgrade listed on yoour wish list there......I don't koiw if you have the 5.4 or not, but if you do, it has the COP (Coil-On-Plug) ignition, and we just released our ignition system upgrade for the Ford COP system. You might want to ask us about that sometime if you'd like to give us a call. It's the only upgrade we've found that actually works on the COP systems. Again, I don't know what motor you have in that 2000, just FYI here................
Congrats on getting thru to Santa!
