Off to SEMA!!!

Hi Gang,

OK, last post before SEMA. Just wanted to let everyone know that we'll be at the annual SEMA show this next week, getting all the lowdown on all the latest performance parts & accessories, etc., as we do each year

While we are gone, one of our staff will be here to answer the phones from 10am to 4pm, Eastern time, that will be from Monday November 4th thru Friday, November 8th inclusive.

Should anyone need Tech Support, or need to reach me in an emergency, they should call our office and get our cell number we'll be using for Tech Support & emergencies, etc. from our staffer.

We will be looking in here on F-150 Online to the best of our ability, these shows are pretty hectic & we usually don't have much time, but we'll do our best to look in as we can.

We'll of course be shooting lots of pics to send in to Steve for F-150 Online.

We will be back in the office as usual on Monday, November 11th.

Thanks to everyone, & see you soon!

Mike,

Have fun at the SHOW.

If you see anybody from JDM please aks them about long tube and 4x4s. I would like to know what exactly gets in the way. Is it the O2 sensor hitting the Drive shaft or is it the T-case being in the way? Not Knowing is killing me.

Regards

Hi JMC,

Yeah, these Kooks custom long-tubes are *very* nice to have, we'd like to see them available for *all* F-150's, but they're not. Kooks has been making headers for the Troyer family for many years (if you go to their site you'll see the Kooks custom headers for the Troyer chassis), George @ Kooks is a great guy, and they do terrific work, absolutely.

Those Kooks long-tube headers are not going to work on the 4.6 4x4 F-150's at all, and we wouldn't have anyone with any 4.6 F-150 try it, 2WD or otherwise, due to the difference in deck height between the 4.6 and the 5.4 motors. Some people say they will fit on the 2WD 4.6 F-150's, but we've not installed them on a 4.6 F-150 here yet, nor have I ever seen any 4.6 F-150 with those long-tubes, and until I do, we're not going to represent that they'll work on *any* 4.6 F-150. There is no question that they won't work on the 4.6 4x4 model, as there are several fitment problems on the 4x4's, aside from the difference in deck height.

If there was enough interest, we could have long tubes made for the 4.6 4x4's, it would take a number of 4x4 owners wanting them to make it feasible. So far, there just aren't enough. Most of the 4.6 owners doing headers aren't interested in spending that kind of money, those custom long-tubes aren't even close to cheap, but they are the way to get all the power available out of the cylinder head. What they've done for our customers vehicles and our own is significant, in both supercharged and in naturally aspirated configurations.

Sorry to go on at length, the bottom line is they won't fit on *your* truck, since it's a 4X4, my apologies!
