Microtuner

Mike,

I just thought about this and had to ask. What happens if you go to the dealer and they reflash your PCM while the Superchips performance program is up loaded in the PCM?

Regards

Hi JMC,

The short answer is, we won't let anyone lose the use of their Micro Tuner over such a reflash scenario.

What happens is, the dealer reflash overwrites whatever program is currently in the internal EEPROM with the new factory revision, just as it would with the stock program in place, but of course you already know that.

When the Micro Tuner has already tuned a vehicle, it still has that stock program in place that it's saved, so it cannot be used to tune another vehicle again until the first vehicle it tuned is returned to stock, by re-uploading the original factory stock program with the Micro Tuner. In your scenario, the Micro Tuner would already have been used, so they couldn't immediately use it to retune the vehicle again. Should that happen to a customer os ours, they simply need to contact us so we can arrange to have them send it in to us for service to take care of that.

We aren't going to let any of our customers lose the use of their Micro Tuner over a reflash in that kind of situation, we do have a policy for that & always have with the Micro Tuners, as we've had them for years for the 1996 & newer GM vehicles.

Thanks Mike,

So its just a question of sending you the tuner to reload/reset it? That is good to know.

Yes JMC, all our customers have to do is give us a call if they find themselves in such a situation & we'll take care of it!

By the way, I hear you got a ride in Neal's truck with our full high-zoot exhaust treatment............Neal was raving about it when I finally got some time to talk with him the other day about it, since it's been finished. I can't wait to get that truck final-tuned and to the track, as I have a feeling he's going to shatter the 14.0 barrier in pretty short order, given some traction. Neal says he's picked up some significant trap speed at that place used for street racing near you guys up there, something about a place where the overpass serves as the finish line. He said he's turning upwards of maybe 4-5 more mph at that point as compared to before. Now that he's finally got enough fuel getting to the motor and it's breathing well on the exhaust side, I think he's going to be hurting some more feelings, the rascal!
