Actually, we've been making the Superchip for the 2002 F-150's with every engine available ever since about 2-3 weeks after they first started shipping to Ford dealers.
Sounds to me like this is probably just a simple matter of your particular vehicle's computer code was not yet available when we last communicated, perhaps, that happens from time to time.
If you can give us a quick call with your vehicle's computer code, we can get you a firm & correct answer right away.
To find the code (I think this will be redundant for you if memory serves, but just in case................) for your vehicle, open your front passenger door, and then look in the front part of the door frame, in the area of the door hinges, as there you should find a small sticker with 3 letters followed by 1 number on it. Some examples of 2002 codes would be something like GCU1, or UEV2, etc. If you have any problems finding your code we can walk you thru that over the phone, too.
If you wouldn't mind giving us a quick call with your code info, we can get you that info immediately! Or, you can just shoot us an email if you prefer.
