Selling flip chip.........Prices>>>

What do people here think would be a fair asking price for a pre-owned Flip chip? Its the standard 87/93 octane chip for a WIZ2. I will consider having it re-programmed to meet someones needs, if it were cost effective.

I wanted to try the Micro Tuner, and will get one soon

Hi jstang,

Because of the rules prohibiting the discussion of any specific pricing here on the message boards, probably the best thing to do is to look over the Classified section here and see what others are listing them for. You'll see more single program units than 2-program Flip Chips listed there usually, so if you don't see any Flips listed, take the average of what you see the single program units going for, and then add what you feel is appropriate for the increased cost of the Flip Chip. You can take a gander at our online ordering system to get a feel for what those 2 products sell for new, that should help you come up with a number for the Flip Chip. I know that's not the specific help you were looking for, but the rules here prohibit that so this is about the best advice I can give you here. If you'[d like to give us a quick call, we can give you a specific number like you're looking for.

One thing here is that your code is not one of the more common codes, so whoever gets it chances are they'll need to have it reprogrammed at additional cost to the buyer, and in that situation that will reduce it's value a bit to someone whose code doesn't match the code in that chip. We can sometimes work a deal with you to help the potential buyer with that aspect if you want to get into the Micro Tuner, and if you'd like to discuss that, please feel free to give us a call.

Good luck!

You're very welcome Jstang, nice to see you again.

By the way, darn shame about Sterling Marlin having to miss the rest of the season, this year was probably going to be his best shot at a Cup championship. I'd be happy seeing either Sterling or Mark Martin finally getting one this year, or Ricky Rudd for that matter, but it looks like Tony Stewart is coming on strong, & some of his stronger tracks are ahead to finish out the season.............

Heard anything interesting in Winston Cup lately?

Well after meeting Sterling, he's not one of my favorites.......lol!
Our event has taken somewhat of a dumper. To get the place we have it in is hard, very few dates open, they usally have Weddings, proms, that sort of thing, they are booked every night, for up to 2 years in advance. One of the dates last year was a rain date for qualifing, no one would commit. This year just trying to get 2 or 3 drivers on the same date was impossible.
You would think $10,000 to $15,000 an hour plus expences(their travel etc) they would flock to your door, it seems more of an bother to them.

I have a close friend, who runs a Busch car (along with a Modified) He had a Winston cup car for Watkins Glen last year or two ago, but was taken out by Elliott(while running 16th).
He was the only driver to run all 3 events there, Modified (finished 1st) Busch(finished 2nd) as mentioned before taken out of the Cup race.
Its a hell of a loss for 1 guy to take $140,000.00 for one race, he's looking for some sponcers, he says he'll be back. This guy could run circles around Todd Bodine, Todd's good ....yes, but things come to him partly because of the name.
So Keep your ears open, if someone you know has some cash handy and wants to go racing!! I'll hook you up with him.
His Name is Ted Christopher, from Plainville CT, There was a short track there at one time years ago, in fact Geoff Bodine ran there.

Hi jstang,

I hear you! We understand all too well about the kind of money required to get Cup drivers to an event, that has changed drastically over the past decade, and quite a bit really in just the past 3-4 years especially. Forget getting any Cup driver to show for $15K + expenses, they can stay in bed and better off in most cases with as hectic as their schedules are. What little time they get to themselves is worth far more than most can pay them, so unless their sponsor is calling, these days it's much tougher to get them to appearances.

Sorry to hear you didn't like Sterling in person, I don't know the man obviously, but I do root for him, I rooted for his Dad Coo-Coo Marlin, I think his name is/was.

I don't wish any bad fortune on the man. I takes alot of skill to be where he was, (along with luck and a great team). It may have been his only shot for a championship, you still gotta feel for the man. Like they say,"thats Racing".

Mike, how about the 'kid' yesterday in Sterling's car? That guy's going to win some races next year.

By the way, thanks for all your help this week. I took the truck for a drive. Put some easy miles on her. Everything is 'A' OK. Rolled the throttle up nice and slow a few times. Man, the power just doesn't stop thru the throttle. I'll send you some updates on times next week. I'm going to the Ford vs Chevy Drags in Gulfport, MS this sunday.

Jeff

Hi jstang,

Oh sure, I understand what you mean, nobody would wish any ill will on those drivers, of course.

I do happen to agree that this year was probably going to be Sterling's best chance at winning a Cup championship, though I hope that doesn't turn out to be true...............

At this point, I'd like to see Mark Martin finally get a long-overdue Cup championship, he's been 2nd at season's end I think 2 or 3 times, and in the Top 5 I can't remember how many times. But for a little bit of luck, he could have been a 3 or 4 time champion by now, so it would be nice to see Mark get his due................

But then, just as you said, "That's Racing." Indeed!

Hi Jeff,

Amen, "the Kid" did one heck of a job, and he can certainly drive, he did a nice job of holding off Bobby Labonte, but then, he did have maybe a tenth per lap in his pocket, and that helps mroe than anything when you can get away from your pursuer.

It's nice for him to have had the chance to step right into a top-shelf Cup car and team like that, so few drivers ever get that kind of opportunity. I think maybe Kyle Petty was one of the first, and Jeff Gordon is generally credited with having been the first in "modern" times.

Glad to hear everything went OK with the install after we spoke that last time, and you got the belt on. Yes, the additional power is there at any throttle position or rpm, as not only did you get a nice power gain when the hammer is down, but increasing the boost level also gives you a very nice increase in part-throttle torque that is *very* noticeable, there's more power *everywhere*, all the time.

Have fun, & by all means do let us know your times & send any pics if you like for our web site!
