Three weeks ago, I installed the line mod valve in my '01 L. This past Sunday we installed the SC Flip Chip and the 4lb pulley (as well as the breather cap, denso's, etc....). How long will it take for the chip to run its full program and start chirping the tires in 2nd?
Hi CDub,
You won't have to wait more than a few hundred miles to get the full effects of the transmission shift benefits & all the other benefits of the Superchip, it usually takes 350-500 miles for the full 100% effects of the Superchip. The line mod valve is a mechanical part and so it does what it does right away of course (which is to open up that particular orifice by a small amount to increase fluid volume), but anytime you clear the PCM and/or change it's program, you'll go back thru the basic relearn cycle & the adaptive strategy adjustments will start from scratch.
There are a few Lightnings out there whose transmissions just won't shift quick enough and hard enough to chirp the tires on the WOT 1-2 without a full shift kit. They are very rare, but I can thionk of 1 of our customers recently for whom his Lightning is not chirping the tires on the WOT 1-2 even with the line mod valve.
Usually what happens when you install the line mod valve is you start getting WOT 1-2 chirps pretty quick, though once in a while it'll take a bit longer.
Because of the use of anonymous screen names here & how many people are here, we can't keep up with whose real name matches what screen name so I don't know who you are at the moment or if we may have spoken about this over the phone or not. You might want to give us a call & let's go over everything with you if you like, & see if we can determine what's going on there for you. Just a thought...................
