Lightning Micro tuner results
We finally got some good weather without rain so I could do some wot testing of the Lightning with the custom program from the new microtuner and my new air induction kit. Wow what a difference! Before I barely broke traction, now massive tire spin all the way thru first gear. Seat o the pants meter says it really improved things. I got to 80 so fast it was scarry. I did notice that I had a miss or something right at the max rpm (I had the setting on max for shift point). I changed the program when I got back and moved the shift points down a couple of settings. I need to call Mike to discuss.
I don't care what the nay sayers post. It is my L and I can tell a significant improvement. If you are considering a micro tuner go for it. Easy to install and it gives results.

Question
I was under the impression that with 380hp the lightning should be albe to break the rear tires lose easy even from stock?? I mean the tires are wide, but still 380hp!!!!
You said you were only able to spin them after microtuner??

The lightning has a lot of traction. Yes, you can make it spin the tires stock but I had to try. After the mods trying to launch without spinning the tires they spun almost thru first gear. Most modded Ls need to roll into a launch to keep from breaking loose. I need to learn to roll into the launch now. My point was how much these simple mods helped an already powerful truck.

Hi War Eagle,
Great, glad you're having fun there, and you're right, the Micro Tuner and that inake have added significant power, certainly enough in the Lightning (& 2002 Harleys) to make the difference between having to brake-torque it to really light 'em up hard versus now having to actually alter your starting line technique due to overpowering the tires from the additional power. Those are *good* problems.
Thanks for calling today, & do let me know what happens after you do as we discussed!

Hi trashguy,
Yep, all the new vehicles built over the past decade+ will take anywhere from 3500-4000 miles up to as much as 8000 miles to fully loosen up & make their best power in stock trim.
The difference between a stock Lightning with a few thousand miles on it and then adding the Micro Tuner makes the difference between being able to spin 'em decently and being able to turn the tires into shreds.
Actually most Lightnings can run high 12's with just the Micro Tuner and the the Air Force One intake (we call them the "chip & filtered" Lightnings) and a set of slicks.
The first 50-100 additional horsepower are very easy to coax from the Lightning, lucky for all of us Lightning owners. Give us a shout if you'd like to go over any details, etc., & good luck with your Lightning!
