Hello all, I just Kinda have a question for anyone who would like to respond back. Several months ago I purchased a Diablo Sport Computer Chip from a WebSite, I can't think of the name off hand. I know that all they delt in was Ford Aftermarket Products. I just wanted to write and see if any one else has a Diablo Sport Chip, I have been searching the Threads and I haven't heard one word, good/or bad said about them.

All I can say is I'm completley satisfied with my purchase I have had noticable horsepower gains and even more so better throttle response and firmer shifting. Just so you know I'm not one of these people who thinks I know it all. I just wanted to let you all know before you think I'm knocking other chips out there. Hey let's face it If only one Company made aftermarket products what fun would it be. That's why we have a place like this to help us all make decessions and give us vaulable info.

Now, back on to my qustions, I was just curious as to others succeses or failures with the Diablo Sport. I remember when I purchased it, the Website itself sold both Diablo and Super Chips. They themselves recommended Diablo for several diffrent reasons. If anyone knows the site I'm talking about don't be afraid to remind me. It just slipped my mind. In fact if I remember correctly, the pro's and cons to both the only spot in which Super Chip beat Diablo was in Firming up your shifting. Although they were both rated good Super Chip was supposed to be noticably better. Other than that as far as size and fit, and actually horspower itself the Diablo was supposed to be rated better. Also one other Benifit to the Diablo was that they Come in Four Bank and One Bank. Super Chips according to the Website only came in One Bank.

Okay, Okay, enough of my longwinded question I guess. Basically what I would like to know is anything Good or Bad anyone has to say about Diablo Sport Chips. Just wanted to find out if I was the only one to Discover them, I'm not trying be rude to anyone but all I saw in the threads was info on Super Chips. And again I'm not knocking them at all, I have heard alot of great things about them. I'm just curious of my own and what other folks experinces have been with them.

No problems with my Diablo chip..Tried many different programs
from them nitrous,pulleys,gear changes etc.Plus im lucky to be about 15mins from them.Might I ad that there nice guys too.Just my 0.2 worth

 

I just wanted to thank you for your reply, I'm glad to hear someone else has had success with them. I just wanted to add to what you said about them being nice guys. My first chip I received didn't work They sent me another express mail and paid for the shipping on my new one as well as the one that didn't work. I'm going to get one. My dad's shop burns them. I had a problem with the one in my t-bird. But my computer was reburned. Otherwise I was very happy with it and look forward to getting another one. I' really considering getting the Delta Chip by Diablo Sport. Don't know why, just think it's cool. That and I'd get it for a really good price.

One thing that I have noticed is the possible failure rate of the Diablo. I know that on another sight 10 of them went in on a group but and 2 of them had big troubles with their chip. With that small example they had a 20% failure rate. That is the one thing that I would worry about. I do not know if that is an average of all diablo chips or just an isolated incident. I am going to go with a supercip for one main reason I can get a used one for my truck for $100. I am fairly sure that they are very similar all the way around. The person that I am buying this from stated that with the diablo chip he is getting better gas milage but it does not shift as good as the superchip. Give a little get a little. Like I said though this is just one person and not a scientific expermint with a large cohort.

 

Hello again, Yes I belive I metioned in the original post that Super Chip is supposed to shift better. As far as the failure rate of Diablo I have no clue, However my first chip from them was bad, but like I said they replaced it free and payed all the shipping for both the bad and the new one. Not to mention that they shipped the second chip overnight. I guess it's like you said give a little get a little. Thanks for all your replies. Rollingrock1978

 

You guys shouldnt really rely on your chips for firm tranny shifts
The correct way is to install a shift kit,from what I understand.Dont get me wrong my L will knock a cup of coffie right out of your hand hitting 2nd gear(ask my wife)but its not supposed to be to healthy on the tranny.This is some info I picked up on this website,if Im wrong feel free to correct me.By the way I do know this,what ever chip you plan to use the co.should be able to adjust your shift firmness to suit your needs

My Diablosport was installed on my truck last spring with 600 miles on the clock.
Works well, no probs.
I've got over 11,000 on it now.
