hi mike ,i am fairly new in here ,just bought a 02 f250 superduty w/v10 i love the truck was wondering what i can get from your company to help out even more, typical owner never enough power, looking for elect fans, chip ? traded my 01 supercrew after i lost the transmission 2nd 3rd solenoids/harness in transmission and engine harness, along with oxy.sensor and pcu,got back from dealer and 2nd gear slips hard and chatters,so i got the dealer to eat the bill and traded for the superduty, the supercrew had 41000 miles and ford wouldnt do anything to help

<drool> Man, just the thought of 10 pistons gives me goosepimples. How is performance compared to the 5.4 (or whatever you traded)?

I wish I had sprung for the 250 -- but I was way over budget with Nick as it was.

Hi PT,

Congratulations on your V-10, though I'm sorry to hear what you had to go thru to get it. I went thru a similar experience with FoMoCo, I came out ahead, but only because I was able to out-smart them, usually you take a loss on those deals, it's amazing how many ways they can find to put it to you. I also have to say in all fainess that FoMoCo did go above & beyond (finally) when we got it all resolved, and we still buy only FoMoCo products (go Ford!)

In terms of what can be done to improve performance, there are *tons* of things that can be done, and a lot of it simple bolt-ons that aren't really expensive.

The Superchip will get you a solid 25+ hp gain at the rear wheels (about 31 hp flywheel), and the Air Force One intake kit will get you about 18-20 more flywheel hp. Add a Magnaflow cat-back to that and you have our Stage 1 kit and a total power gain SAE Net at the flywheel of 60+ horsepower, sometimes as much as 65+ hp.

This is the very best way to start out from a bang for the buck standpoint, as it's a matched component system setup that is well balanced and uses the very best quality materials; the performance gains are very significant, and the total cost to do all 3 of those mods by going with our Stage 1 kit is very affordable. You can do those 3 mods (Superchip, AF1 intake & Magnaflow cat-back exhaust system) literally in any order you like, you can do them one at a time or all at once if you want to get the best deal, whatever suits your needs best.

The electric fan kit will get you another 15-18 hp flywheel on those Super Duty trucks, and you will also usually see about 1.0 more mpg from converting over to electric cooling fans as well, that is what we have seen in our vehicles here in the mountains, where driving conditions are not the best for mileage. The potential mpg gain is icing on the cake, but it's a nice by-product on top of the power gain, to be sure.

And there are plenty more things that can be done to improve the performance of your new V-10 Super Duty if you want to take it even further, you know how that goes, there's always something else to spend money on.

The best thing to do would be to give us a call so we can go over all of this with you in detail, & answer any questions you may have, get you the pricing info, etc., so you can give it some thought & decide want you want to do.

Good luck with your truck,

Talking

the 5.4 in the lighter f150 feels quicker but at 25 mph w/v10 nail it and the speedo stays even with the tach,it flies, the torque is not even close :

Hi PT,

Yes, a extra couple of cylinders of displacement does indeed help, and it's needed with the additional weight of the Super Duty. Once you get that V-10 rolling, it's not bad stock, and will outpull the 5.45 F-150 to be sure. It responds very nicely to the same basic changes the 4.6 & 5.4 modular motors like, so there is a lot of room for each improvement with bolt-ons.
