Rev Limiter remains
Mike - Chip went in, and vehicle started instantly. Following directions, stopped engine, disconnect battery, turn on ignition, wait 5 mins., then restarted engine to begin re-setting the new baseline for the Superchip.
Bringing up the engine, I still have the rev-limiter at idle.
Web Site depicts this very same vehicle, (1997 - 4.6L) and " the rev limiter removed" just above 4,000.
Why is this rev-limiter still there at Idle?

The idle rev-limiter is not removed...That is there so you dont really mess anything up...It is the top limiter that is removed. The reason the idle rev-limiter is not removed is becasue if you take a engine up that high with out a load you will F something up
Thanks Kutter72. Just got off the phone with Mike from Performance Products and he said the same thing, with much more detail. When the Webmaster who put together the PERFORMANCE PRODUCTS Web-site, they combined the two terms: Top-Speed limiter, and No-Load limiter, and simply called it: "Rev Limiter." Looking at the graphs on the Web-Site insinuates this to be one and the same Rev-Limiter. Now to some of the people who read this thread, this may seem trivial, but mis-using this terminology incorrectly threw me off. In summary, the Top Speed Limiter is gone, so the Factory setting which suppresses top-end (to about 98 mph) is no longer there, and the vehicle is capable of getting speeds up to triple digits. The No-Load limiter remains at ~4,500 (the one at idle) and is the one that will ALWAYS be there.
