Question question for Mike

Back in Dec I bought a Super Chip from you for a 2K1 V6... Well after buying 2 more cars from the same Dealer they offered my father In-Law a great deal on a V8 4x4 F150.

Now everything we bought for the 2K1 has been removed and it's back to stock. Is there anyway to have his chip reprogrammed for the New Truck or should we sell that along with the Airforce One and all other mods we gave him for X-mas and buy all items for the 2K2 truck?

Thanks,
Andre Sierra

Hi Andre,

Sure, the Superchip that was used on the 2001 V-6 F-150 can be reprogrammed for the 2002 V8 F-150. Just give us a call with the computer code of the new 2002 truck to make sure we already have that code, & then we can make those arrangements for you so it can be used on the 2002 truck.

Congratulations on the deal on the new truck!

Once AGAIN,

THANK YOU for the fast reply. Two other questions would be what costs are we looking at to have this done? Finally, what turn (Time Frame) should I expect?

FYI: The dealer said that the Truck will be ready for pick up on Friday so I'll have the codes then.

Also I think the Airforce One intake I have will NOT fit the New truck so I would need to order that as well...

Thanks,
Andre S.

Hi Andre,

You are correct, the Air Force One intake kit for the V-6 F-150 will not fit on the V-8 F-150's.

If your previous F-150 had been a V-8 instead, either the 4.6 or the 5.4, then sure, you could have easily transferred it over to the new truck, but because it was for a V-6, you'll need the V-8 AF1 kit for this new 2002 V-8 F-150.

If you will list that V-6 Air Force One intake kit it for sale in the Classified Ads section here on F-150 Online that is provided free for that purpose, you'll probably get a sale for it quickly if you list it for a good price, as people are always browsing the Classifieds here looking for bargains.

With regard to the cost for reprogramming that Superchip for your new truck, the policies of F-150 Online prohibit the discussion of pricing here on the message boards to keep them free of what is considerd to be "blatant commercial content." So we'll need to communicate privately about that please, & thanks in advance for your understanding on that, we gotta stay in step with the rules of F-150 Online.

I'll shoot you an email to let you know that cost, so you'll have that info very quickly, ok? Then when you take delivery of the new truck, please touch base with us to see what the computer code is, to make sure we have it already available. We probably do, but we'll want to make sure, of course. If you like, we can also just do a package deal to get you into the correct V-8 AF1 kit & reprogram the Superchip, too, that would be the cheapest way to do that.

Talk to you soon!
