Exhaust emissions test w/superchip
Just got my trucks annual safety/ emissions test done today with the superchip installed and the test results were lower than last year without. They gave me the following info:
With Superchip this year:
GAS READING STANDARD
HC(ppm) 0008 0220
CO (%) 0.00 1.20
CO2(%) 14.5 -----
Engine rpm reading at 700 rpm
Info from last years print out
Without Superchip last year:
GAS READING STANDARD
HC(ppm) 0011 0220
CO (%) 0.00 1.20
CO2(%) 15.2 -----
Engine rpm reading at 701 rpm
Shows the results being less (not a lot though) with the Superchip installed. So if your worried about it throwing off the results with chip installed towards the bad side mine didn`t in the least. Another great reason to have the chip installed

That is the normal result in an emissions test, they usually run just a little bit cleaner with the Superchip.
That's good tuning for you.
Thanks for your posts!

Hi dloreanwiz,
Sure, all products have some kind of downsides, though in the case of something like the Superchip, "downside" may be pushing it a bit.
You have to use premium gasoline with the Superchip. That's about the only thing that could potentially be viewed as a downside. That is how the majority of the power gain is made, by retuning the engine specifically for the use of premium gas.
So that being the case, you might spend as much as $100 per 10,000 miles driven more for gasoline in these F-150's. For people driving the normal 15K-20K miles per year, they may spend an additional $2-$4 a week more for gas at most, and for many people, less than that.
The upside is, well, a lot more fun, more power, more torque, better shifting in the automatics, top speed limiter gone, etc., all the things you've probably already been reading about.
