4.2 v6, Automatic chip?
Hi guys,
I have a 2002 Supercab XLT with the 4.2 v6, an automatic, and 3.55 gears. What is the ABSOLUTE cheapest that I can get a superchip for? Anyone selling a used one? I`m after better gas mileage and more power.

The policies of F-150 Online prohibit the discussion of pricing here to keep these message boards free of what is considered blatant commercial content, just so you'll know for future reference.

The absolute cheapest way to get into the Superchip is to find one used, as you're thinking of I'm sure, and that can work well for you **IF** you remember one key thing.........a used Superchip is only a bargain when that used Superchip matches the computer code of your vehicle; each Superchip is programmed for the exact software revision in each individual F-150's ECU (powertrain computer), it's not a "generic" product. If the computer code of your truck doesn't match the computer code the Superchip was programmed for, your vehicle will not start with it installed, you'll have to pay to have it reprogrammed to match the code of your vehicle before it will work. At that point a used Superchip is no longer a bargain compared to buying it new, so just make sure you're aware of that.
You can find used Superchips for sale here on F-150 Online in the Classified Ads section, which you can access by clicking on the link on the left side of your screen here that says "Classifieds." Make sure you get all the original documentation etc., from the seller if you find a used Superchip that matches your code.
