if you just want the feeling of response, change your gears to 3.73's in the 4.2. a chip will make the most of your engine as long as you are running premium gas.

Hi Matt6383,

This depends greatly on the exact configuration (which has a huge effect on weight) of each F-150. If you are asking if putting the Superchip in a V6 GF-150 will make it as fast as an identically-configured 5.4 F-150, no way.

It is certainly possible to have a V-6 F-150 outrun a 5.4 F-150, but only if the 4.2 V-6 is the lightest possible configuration, and the 5.4 F-150 is in the heaviest possible configuration.

The Superchip is certainly an excellent place to start, it's the single most cost-effective modification to do to your V-6 F-150, but you're generally going to need more than that to keep up with most 5.4 F-150's.

The best thing to do would be to give us a call when you get a chance, and have us go over this in detail with you, so we can talk about the exact configuration of your F-150, how you're going to be using it, etc. and then we can let you know the best modifications to do to get your performance where you want it to be. The Superchip should be a part of that, to be sure, given it's effectiveness.

Hope to speak with you soon,
