I am sold!
I am sold on a Superchip. I am saving right now for a Magnacharger w/ a Superchip for my 5.4 4x4 Off Road. Based on the numbers and performance gains, I am almost thinking about buying the Superchip now, and then just getting it programmed for the inevitable s/c on the other side. A full second off a 1/4 mile time is a huge improvement. I have done a lot of searching around, and almost everyone without exception loves their Superchip. So at this point it is only a matter of time for me.

The F150 really does see improvement! I guess I was mistaken about the Superchip and the results it can provide an F150! BUT I stand firm on the belief that a chip alone will not do much for a GT Mustang!
Maybe with a Vortech, headers, and other big improvement Mods the chip could help. Anyway,
I guess I'll be saving for a chip!
Mike,
If the base chip is $225 how much more would one be if I need it tuned for 4.10 gears?
I want the gears first. So after I finish paying Uncle Sam his greedy take in my Federal Taxes, I plan on saving up for gears, Powertrax, MAC Cold Air induction, and finally a chip.
Thanks everyone for all your posts!
Hi Signmaster,
I think you're right, Lew's truck is the only F-150 I can remember that ever posted a slower ET at one of our drag strip events at our National Rally.
If memory serves, I think that F-150 ran a 19-something @ 78 mph on it's first outing at the last Rally, which was the day after we picked it up new at the dealership last summer. Only one way to break 'em in.
Luckily it's easy to whack of a bunch of ET when you're that slow, it doesn't take a whole lot to lop of the first coupla-few seconds when you're pushing the 20 second barrier with an automatic F-150. If we get this heavy ORP into the mid-15's or so that will be plenty good for it's heft and duty as a tow vehicle, and is going to take some work.

Hi mthunwardsen,
If you plan on going supercharged, then you'll really want to go with the 2-program Superchip Flip Chip for maximum all-out power while maintaining the that vehicle was designed to be able to do at the flip of the switch. With the custom tuning needed for a supercharger, it's actually cheaper than the single program Superchip, as the Flip Chip's price includes any custom tuning needed at time of purchase, where the single program Superchip does not include custom programming, it's an added cost.
We very frequently work out deals for those who are buying a Magnacharger with a nice package deal to include the custom programming needed as an update to their existing Superchip along with a very competitive price for the Magnacharger. I don't know if that might help you to get into your Superchip so you can enjoy all the benefits it has to offer while you're saving for the Magnacharger, so this is just a thought, FYI for what it may be worth...........if that might be applicable, give us a shout at your convenience & we'll try to help.
Good luck with the savings account for the Magnacharger, the day will come when it's hit that magic number & your blower arrives, gleaming & ready for action. It's a fun goal to have.

Hi Adam_01_F150,
We'll be more than happy to get you that info, but we can't do that here. The discussion of pricing here on the message boards is against the policies of F-150 Online, it's one of the ways they try to keep what is considered to be blatant commercial content off the boards.
If you wouldn't mind, we ask that you please either give us a quick call or drop us an email for that information (please be sure to include all details), with our thanks in advance for your understanding on that.

While I have no before dyno data to compare with, I just returned with my "after" power pulls from a place with a Mustang brand Dyno and here are my results:
the horsepower curve is about as flat as it gets from 2600-5100 rpm @ 223 hp and torque is 351 lbs ft @ 3000 and has gradual decline to 300 @ 5100. This was the results of several pulls (4) but all 4 were pretty close.
I know every dyno shows different results (as well as the operator) but I felt pretty good about this.
Does anyone else have results from their 6.8? My only mods are the Superchip, open air box and AMSOIL in transmission and rear diff (soon in the crankcase too).
Thanks!
