Get the code off the computer and call Mike Troyer @ Superchips.

Hi Vinnie,

Glad you dropped by!

Yes, we do make Superchips for the Explorers. The Explorer has had 2 version of 4.0 V-6's, the older 160 HP OHV version, and then the newer SOHC 4.0 V-6, rated at anywhere from 202-210 HP.

We do not have to do anything custom in the programming for things like a K&N air filter, an airbox elimination kit like the K&N FIPK kit already on that vehicle, or a cat-back exhaust, in that vehicle, just so you'll know. That being the case, that Superchip could actually be ordered thru our online ordering system here, which you can access just by clicking on the link below, in our signature line. Once there, just select the Superchip that is labeled "For All other Fords," I think it says.

You'll see about a 20 horsepwoer gain in the SOHC 4.0 V-6, along with the top speed limiter being removed and the shifts being improved in the 5-speed automatic tranny those SOHC's have.

If you'd like to go over this in more detail, please give us a quick call at our number listed below.

Good luck!
