Got it in and drove around the block and noticed I still had radio stations. I was under the impression that I was suppose to lose the memory. So I came back home and disconnected the battery again just to make sure. Am I correct in thinking that the radio stations should be lost on the preset buttons?
No, you won't always lose your radio presets in all these vehicles, just some of them.
The newer vehicles have a keep-alive feature that will retain radio presets when the battery is disconnected for a short time, so what you're experiencing could be perfectly normal.
The procedure we recommend using after installing the Superchip and test-firing the engine is to clear the microcontroller inside the ECU of it's previous program. This is done so you can start to feel the effects of the Superchip sooner, within the first 50 miles rather than later. coming in gradually over 500 miles. It's just a technique to improve your short-term results, a month from now it won't make any difference if you did that or not.
What's *critical* is making sure the battery is disconnected the entire time you're working with the ECU installing the Superchip, from before you touch the ECU until you're finished installing the Superchip and you're ready to test-start the engine after installing the Superchip. Once it starts, then you shut it back off and do that procedure to clear the ECU.
Have fun!

Thanks guys. At least I won't have to reset the radio stations. You know the biggest pain of this job was removing the metal bracket that the computer clips to. I have big hands and that was a pain. I had to bend the bracket to allow the computer chip to fit. I was a little uneasy doing this. Now Ford will know I have tampered with the computer. Guess I will deal with that when the time comes. I did every thing with tender loving care. Notice the shift points change right off the bat. Can't wait to get the chip in full swing after 500 miles. Thanks for the help guys.
