Question for Mike
I am getting ready to install 4.10 gears, should I have my chip reprogramed??
If so, I want to change the shift points and hardness to be a little more aggressive so I should just have it all done at the same time. I am no longer running the stock size tires (see my signature), can you make adjustments in the chip to the tire and rear?? (I don't mean the speedo, I know I have to change the gear for my year). E-mail me the address where to send the chip as well as the price for the reburn. I still have the package you shipped the chip to me in so I will use it to return the chip to you...

Hi WLF,
Well, as much as we'd love to sell you a custom program, we just can't do it.
All kidding aside, for the 1997 & 1998 models, when changing gear ratios or tire sizes, you just change the reduction gear (sometimes referred to as the speedo gear, or speedometer gear, same thing) in the tailshaft of the transmission, which you can get at any Ford parts counter for under $20.
We don't need to change anything in the program for your model year when you do the 4.10 gear change, just drop in the matching reduction gear and that brings the speedometer & odometer back into line, which automatically corrects the shift points, & you're all set!
