mike,

thanks a lot for the info. i have another question for you though. i am going take my chip in for my 3k check up. i am going to take out the chip and reset my computer like the directions say. my question is should i cover the opening on the computer so dust does not get in there? i was thinking aluminum foil since it blends in color wize...but maybe the metal would mess something up. i do not know. what do you recomend? (FYI the truck might be in more than one day because a ding has to be painted and some other stuff. i forget. ) thanks again.

Arom

LBC,

Did you save the little black plastic cover that you removed from the opening? that would be your best bet for a cover. If not I would just leave it, maybe a small piece of black electrical tape.....

Ed

LBC,

After reading your posts I am now aware of the editing situation, I wish I could go back and edit the thread I started in the [B]Questions about the site? [B] forum......

Hi LBC150,

We recommend retaining the plastic cap on the back of the computer for this very reason, we suggest keeping it in the glove compartment so you'll always have it and can just snap it right back in.

Realistically, unless you had a lot of obvious visible dust in the air entering the cabin, that really won't be an issue, but I prefer to have the cap back on anytime the Superchip is removed.
