Chip is in!!!!

Well I got my chip from UPS today. I read all the instructions(doesn't happen very often)and from start to finish was about an hour to install. I was kind of worried about getting the contacts clean but I used the screwdriver trick and it was no problem.

I am very happy with the performance of the chip. I wasn't expecting it to be a rocket after but it was easy to tell that there was some more power under the hood now. I was most impressed with the shifting, it wasn't harsh but it felt much more positive.

I also have read from a few other chip users that it smoothed out the idle a bit and I noticed the same thing. I'm not saying the idle was that bad but if you sit in the truck with it running you could feel it stumble every once in a while. Not enough to drop the tach but you could feel it in the seat and now thats gone.

I'm also very impressed with the shipping of the product. I ordered it late Thursday and it was here first thing Monday. So I have to thank Mike for selling a great product and giving me plenty of information on the product before I ordered it so I knew what to expect. Mike should be proud as he is a great salesperson and they can be hard to find sometimes....

Thanks again

Great post; I couldn't agree more. People need to have realistic expectations. I read a post in the 6-cylinder section a few weeks ago, the member was hoping that a chip would make him blow the sh** out of everything on the road.......NOT.

Gentlemen,

I agree with Max, well said in your post.

Glad to hear you took the time to read all of the documentation, that always helps thing go smoother.

The improvement in idle quality is something many people comment on. It's just a by-product of the changes made to the fuel curves rather than anything changed in the idle characteristics specifically for that, but it's a nice bit of icing on the cake.

Enjoy,
