119mph

Gotta get over 120mph...

did it in my old truck... gotta do it in my new truck.

Got to 112mph racing a R/T 5.9 which could not pull on me at all

Thanks Mike for all the help you gave me with my chip and all. The Limiter is removed in the EFK1 ECU. I've been out of town working and have not had time to get on the forums.

cya.

HI!... TALLEYWACKER : What RPM are you at, at your highest top speed. I hit about 4450RPM in overdrive. I also have 4.10 gears and 30 inch tall tires. I can hit just over 115MPH at the very top of 3RD gear right before the shift 5500rpm.

Hi Talleywhacker,

OK, excellent, & thanks for confirming that function, so top speed limiter is gone on the EFK1.

As you probably already know, there can easily be enough variance from one vehicle to the next that can affect top speed by a few mph. And there are of course ways to add more power to get more top speed, as Neal keeps reminding everyone here with his almost-140 mph normally aspirated F-150.

Good luck & Happy New Year!

Hey Neal,

Sorry I haven't made time to give you a call the past couple of days have been very hectic, still dealing with funeral arrangments, etc., my apologies.

Congratulations on your almost 140 mph top end blast. And as I always say and will once again, *please* be careful!!

Happy New Year & talk to you soon, Neal.

Neal... Dragmath says i'm at 4678Rpm's. I had the digital odometer on MPH and I didn't even think about looking at my R's. I have 30.67" tires with 3.55 gears. my tranny is 3.90 is 1st, 2.25 is 2nd, 1.55 3rd, 1.00 4th, and .80 is overdrive(5th)... yours is .71 if i believe correctly. I can push a dead even 90MPH in 3rd and thats hitting the rev limiter. I want to go with 4.10 gears but man... having to shift at 30mph to 2nd and 55mph to 3rd and 84mph to 4th just doesn't sound pretty. I don't like the fact of shifting to 2nd at 30mph and thats tops!!! (5300 rpms). I might go with 3.73's so i'll shift to 2nd at 33.5mph. gears are later though as i'm mainly concentrating on getting my spare set of intakes and heads ready, and still figuring what ground of a cam i want and such... not to mention getting 30# injectors a vortech FMU and custom chip. all that with headers and crank pully and i'll be pushing just at 310BHP N/A. after that i'm rebuilding rear end, tranny, and maybe motor to handle a powerdyne or vortech at 11psi intercooled. then i'll be pushing 500BHP which should put me mid 12's on a 4.2 v6.

Ok this has nothing to do with top end speed but you mentioned the Dodge 5.9 and I had to post.

I didn't intend to but a Chevy (exhaust is all I could tell was done) tried to take me this morning. It looked to be 3-4 years old but anyhow, I took off from a light needing to get over to get on a freeway. The Chevy was 2 lanes over. I took off and I saw he did too. Next thing I hear he's nailing it so, I did too. Nothing but walking from there on. I walked quick enough he backed down at about 60 as I was 4-6 care lengths ahead already.

For those of you that read my posts a year ago, no, I still haven't had the honor of a challange by a 32v Navigator. There are so many of them around here I've kind of gotten it out of my head. most are driven by soccer Mom's that I'd rather drive next to at any speed than to leave in the dust.

I got to 4000 RPM in OD with 4.10's and 32" tires on the 4x4. There was still some room left but started to run out of good highway. I figure it was about 125 MPH.

It's probley better that a Highway Patrol didn't tell you how fast you were going. Ford should put in larger spedos so that we can drive rediculously fast. I always wondered how fast I am going when the neddle is peged at 100. Oh wellmaybe I shouldn't know.

Now lets calculate the energy that a 5000 pound truck going 125MPH has. Look out Geos! Suprisingly the 4x4 SCREW handles very nicley at over a 100MPH and yes I have tried this multiple times coming home from work at midnight.
