Hi cyberbear,
Welcome to F-150 Online!
My apologies of our online ordering system caused any confusion, but if you'll go back and take a close look, you will see that the 2 brands of chips available there are the Superchip, and then the Diablosport chip. What you mentioned, "Ford F-series with Gasoline Engine" is the Superchip for the F-150, Expedition, etc. If you will look above where you sawe that, you will see that it is labeled as the Superchip area of the ordering section. The Superchip has more options & configurations, such as the dual-program Flip Chip, etc.
Either of those brands will work well, the Superchip is a more mature product and what we use on all our vehicles, and what the vast majority of our customers and the people here on F-150 Online use. Diablosport has been making performance chips for a short time, just under 2 years, whereas Superchips basically invented the industry back in 1983.
The Superchip is also 50-state emissions ceritified, and the Diablosport chip is not, and that is important to many people.
The bottom line is, either brand of chip will certainly provide a nice improvement to performance, as both of them tune each vehicle according to it's exact computer code, instead of being "generic", and also works adding power all the time, at any throttle position or rpm. My personal preference is for the Superchip, as it makes a little bit more power in most of these vehicles and also have a more thorough optimization of the automatic transmission calibrations.
If you'd like to go over this in more detail, please feel free to give us a call, our contact info is just below.
Merry Christmas!
