Superchip vs. Power module
wanted to get some feedback
I was wondering if anybody has had any experience with the "JET POWER MODULE" see ad below. I have read a bunch on the superchip and am just doing the final research before I buy.
It sounds very good... and seems much easier to install.
Thanks
Mike

Mikebike,
Do you want my JET chip? I will give you a good price. I must admit, it does make a nice paper weight.
I had both the JET chip and the Superchips for my 97. My 00 uses only the Superchips. Funny thing is, my JET chip that is made to work with a 97 works on my 00.....

Hey Mikebike,
Sorry my friend, but you're wrong about the Jet chip being any "easier to install." It installs in the exact same place, and in the exact same manner as the Superchip, there is no difference in the installation time, or ease of installation, whatsoever.
There is, however, all the difference in the world in the actual results, the improvement in performance between the Superchip and a Jet chip, or a Hypertech, etc.
We know you're looking for factual data, so we're all just trying top help keep you from making a mistake. As you can see from the numerous responses from people who have actually used both the Jet and the Superchip, they generally consider the Jet product to be exactly what it is, an excellent paperweight, and the Superchip to be what it is, the best of it's kind.
Jet, just like Hypertech and most other chipmakers, is completely "generic", as you can see from JMC's post. They only make 1 program that is heavily compromised to run on all similar vehicles, instead of having a performance program that is made specifically for each individual vehicle's ECU software revision like the Superchip.
Jet also only adds what little bit of power it adds (when it doesn't cause an actual *loss* of power, that is) when you are at full-throttle, during open-loop operation. You spend very little of your driving time at full-throttle, maybe 2% to a max of about 5% of your time behind the wheel.
The Superchip is the *only* chip on the market that tunes each vehicle individually, works *all* the time adding power at any throttle position or rpm, and is 50-state emissions certified, CARB & EPA.
By all means, take your time & check it all out so you can make your decision from a truly informed stand point.
Good luck!
