Thumbs up Super Chip For V6.

I'VE HEARD THAT THE SUPERCHIP WILL GIVE MY 4.2 V6 25 EXTRA H.P. IF THIS IS TRUE, WHAT WOULD IT GIVE MY V6 WITH A FLOWMASTER SI/DO EXHAUST?

Hi Wolverine,

Well, that kind of power gain is possible, but do keep in mind that those are, like any product, the maximum rated peak gains. With a product like the Superchip, exactly how much power each individual 4.2 V-6 or any engine for that matter, will gain will depend primarily on fuel quality and the altitude the vehicle is operated at.

The maximum rated gains for the Superchip for that engine are 25 hp & 31 lbs./ft. of torque. That is on an engine making it's full rated stock power, at sea level altitude on high quality 93-93 octane fuel.

It's possible that you might end up with a 20 horsepower gain instead of 25 horsepower, it just depends on fuel quality, etc., but you will definitely be able to feel it.

Think of the Superchip as basically a 10%-12% power gainer, is I think the most accurate way to look at it.

One very nice thing it does on those 4.2 V-6'ds is to help out where it's really weak, below 2500 rpm, that is an area of deficit, and we fix that problem in the program.

All in all, your F-150 is going to feel like it just picked up about 10%-12% more motor under the hood, is one way to put it. So it won't be a supercharger, but it is the best bang-for-the buck mod for these trucks, and you'll definitely enjoy it.

It's not like it's an endless well of more power if you have more and more modifications, with the exhaust you have that doesn't mean that it's going to gain 30 hp instead of 25, in other words. When you have an airbox elimination kit and a good cat-back exhaust, yes, it is true that the Superchip tends to add a little bit more, it's just the total package of the parts working together equaling more than their individual values; and the Superchip, intake & exhaust are a very nice combination that do work well to compliment one another.

I hope that gives you a better understanding of what to expect power-wise from the Superchip, and please feel free to give us a call if you'd like to go over the details, etc.

To place your order for the Superchip, you can either call us or you can use our online ordering system, there is a link just below in our signature line to take you to that online system.

Best of luck with your truck,
