Hi 4X4,

With regard to your new claim now that you couldn't tell *any* difference from the Superchip, you'd be well advised to clear the ECU after installing or removing a Superchip from any Ford ECU, otherwise it takes hundreds of miles to get the Superchip program fully at work, and takes hundreds of miles for it to gradually be wiped out open removal when you don't clear the ECU. Sure, go ahead and tell me all about how carefully you cleared the ECU, that's next, right?

Enjoy your Hypertech, & knock off the character assassination.

Tell you why you shouldn't buy a SuperChip? Hmm, ok that's easy.

1) Your friends and family would miss you. You'd be driving your truck a lot more because of how much more enjoyable it would be.

2) You'd get caught up in a debate (or fight) because someone is sure to tell you that you're lying about the increased MPG.

3) If you did, you might scratch the bolt head that you would have to remove to pull the computer, and I don't think there is a touch up paint for them.

4) If you have friends with GM products, you'd lose their friendship once you realized that you couldn't help but start rubbing it in that you spanked them.

5) Oh, another one. Because there is a chance that you could damage the gas pedal and from what I hear, they are hard to find! (Ask Neal)

There's a few to start with. I'm sure I could think of a few more.

For Mike T...Superchips_Distributor

I have a 2001 HD with 4K miles and just installed the Factory-Tech valve assembly, replace the tranny fluid with Amsoil tranny fluid, and installed a K&N Gen II intake system. I already had the superchip which was installed by the Ford dealer when I purchased the truck in August.

All I can say is "WOW". Even at part throttle I chirp the tires going from 1-2 and also from 2-3. At WOT the shift-jerk and sound is violently awesome!

When everything is cold the slam into 2nd is a little milder (not much), but when hot there is no lag and I get slammed back into the seat.

Even at part throttle the tires still spin a little when shifting. Downing shifting is very smooth and 3rd-OD is also very smooth.

Should I consider a re-burn of my chip? Could I be creating a problem later on with my present set-up?

hmm....

Well hundreds of miles doesn't take too long when you commute 60 miles a day five days a week...plus i was running 87 octane gas, havent *U* said that the chip will not have much of if any effect???

Mike i understand your position, this is cake money...Just sit back and dis *all other chip makers* and rake in the dough...seems almost too good to be true...i wish i could sell my products if i had any in a monopoly environment.....

and your right, i enjoy my power programmer 3!

4x4, I understand where your coming from where Mike has a monopoly on this board. Now I am not here to defend Mike or any one else, but in all fairness any dealer that wants to follow the rules and spend the time (lots of time) typing in replies to peoples questions then I think he deserves our business.

I just recently spent over 2 hours talking to someone as a local shop about a purchase that will be over $2000 and I will give him my business over someone else that will not spend the time to talk with me and answer my questions.

Everyone has a different opinion and I respect everyone’s else’s. And just as long as Mike or any other dealer are not telling lies, then I will continue to support them with my business or tell others of them.

Count how many post Mike has made and then how many phone calls (including mine) he has taken, and then giving us a discount (f150 online discount) on top of that. It's a tough market out there and what ever you or anyone one else can do to get a customer, well that’s business.

I believe that any one is free to sell products here. Every one is subject to the F150 Online rules. I think that makes it hard for one to have a monopoly here. Hey, if some one is doing things right shouldn't they make money? If we want to know the pro's of the other chips we have to find them for our selves. At least untill they have a rep here.
Assuming it is "cake", good. I would love to be able to do that. Wouldn't you?
Unless I find some one to do it better, this is where I will come for my chip and other performance needs.

02XLT, so have you decided. I would guess there will be one avalible real soon.
I think based on what we have seen on this thread it's a good idea to do some homework. I think most would still end up with a Superchip.
Good luck!

Tom

Typical

You know in real life noone cares about who did what at what game. So don't try to rub it in our faces because the fact is we don't care. you go have your bcs bowl. longhorns have always been sore losers and annoying over-boasting winners. So thank you for proving my point.

Mike also sells Diablo Chips. He does not work for Superchips he just sells them. Do a search on this site and others and you will get lots of info about various chips. You will see for yourself once you gather all the info you need to make your decision.

4 x 4, you are comparing 2 different trucks with 2 different chips. the hd you have now has just a few more ponies, (300 plus) to begin with, than the 235 hp. 1999.

Hello Gentlemen (and ladies, if applicable!)

Obviously most of us here are grown adults, and thus perfectly capable of making up our own minds.

For what it may or may not be worth, I suggest simply ignoring 4X4's taunts & goads in this thread, as well in the rest of the threads he posts other "rants" in. Don't let his claims about us upset you, the truth is well known and easy to verify.

Just to set the record straight regarding the false claims he has posted about us in this thread, we are not only F-150 Online's largest financial supporter because we are committed to this web site remaining available free of charge to everyone, but we also donate all profits left after what we send to F-150 Online to charity. It really couldn't be any clearer, so it's quickly evident that all his nasty garbage about cake money, monopolies, etc. is just that, pure garbage. It's beyond tacky to even discuss such matters on these message boards. Unfortunately, it's kinda like dealing with terrorism; there isn't a nice way to defend against someone who is determined to sling mud & falsehoods while hiding behind a monitor.

I suggest we get back to the business of exchanging relevant information & enjoying F-150 Online.
