I own a 98 150 4.6 w/ a pinging problem. I had it scanned, but no apparent problems. Not sure off hand what the code was,( Iwill get it though), but it wasn't the FOU1. What info do I need to have a chip made, and WILL it cur emy problem for sure?

 

my 97 with the 4.6 used to ping a little. i tried premium ful and that worked for a while. I installed a superchip and i run premium in it now. I have had no more problems what so ever. my code was on the right side door jam, by the hinges. or it is on the cpu. hope this helps some.

 

I run premium in mine and it goes away too, but the point is I shouldn't have to. I looked on the door jamb & it's not there.
