Talking Mike............

Hey, I have some more questions for ya since you seem to know alot about exhaust and engines and stuff.....

How would I go about putting straight pipes on a newer truck? like a 95-2001 F-150 or F-250??????????

I know you recommend Magnaflow, but they just arent loud enough for me,. I have also hear Flowmasters,Borla,Rhino,Dynomax,B&B and the yare justy dont sound right to me... I dont know why...i gues because I am a rednecks at heart....

anyways to contines..... I have 4 major buddies I hang out with, Steve,Chris,Jason,David, and Daniel...

all of them have loud trucks,,, Steve has a 88 chevy with straight pipes, and he just blew half of his 12 inch glasspacks out, Chris has a 86 F-250 that is loud!! straights and 12 inch glasspacks, Jason has a 78 Chevy with straights and 18 inch glasspacks and his is the loudest....anyways,,, to continue.. they have been riding me about making my truck loud, of course I want it loud, but right now I only have a V6, which I am gonna put a y-pipe on.
......
but pretty soon I am gonan buy a newer truck...i really dont like the looks of the new F-150's, but the F-25o's look sweet...

I have heard everything I can to get rerady to put on an exhaust, but nothing IMO beats the sound of straight pipes or straights with glasspacks..... I know that you may not recoomend straights and glasspacks, but thats what I like.

What all do I have to do to put straights on a newer truck? lets say 95-2001? The local exhaust shop will cut off cats, but I dont know how many the trucks have....? but I know that cutting the cats off will decrease my backpressure, or at least thats what I think,so I am thingking maybe running straight pipes, but leaving 1 cat on each pipe, or get high-flow cats to put on......but then this brings up the 02 sensors?? what the heck would I do with them? cna I just put them in the high flow cats of what? I dont even know where the heck they go....

also would the sound still be pretty loud if I keep 2 cats???

please answer all my questions? I have asked these in aqlot of forums but never get the answers I want to, since I know that you know alot about this stuff I hope you can answer them...

I appreciate it man....also how much does a superchip cost? what exactly do they do? I may just order one from ya since your helping me

Thanks

I think you need the straight pipes and the 6" diameter fart pipe tip

I don't mean to come off harsh, but come on. Seriously, if you can't figure out the straight pipes I've got to wonder if you should be modding your truck at all

Basically you cut the exhaust after the y pipe, get a long section of 2.5" exhaust pipe, clamp it on, then do a turndown before the axle. The turndown will reflect the sound off the pavement making it a bit louder. It's going to sound like crap (think angry bees nest), but it's as loud as you'll be able to get out of a V6. You will likely lose a substantial amount of torque by doing this, but it sounds like Loud is more important than functional to you.

You'll never be able to come close to the sound of a healthy V8 with the 4.2 motor. Your buddys will always have a louder truck, simply because of displacement. I think you'd better get a diesel if you replace the F-150, as they are about as noisy as they make. Maybe you could beat out your friends by getting a V-10 with glasspacks

The superchip is $225 for the F150online members. The superchip works by reprogramming the fuel air ratio, changing spark timing, changing the rev limiter, removing the top speed limiter, and changing the shift points on an automatic transmission for better shifts. It works great, and is worth running the premium gas IMO. I got more power and better gas milage.

Sorry, but I have to agree with Kruck, it's getting old. Just buy something already.

Semper Fi,

We've been over this a number of times already, and you already have my advice.

Good luck!
