Thumbs up Flip chip installed

Just got done installing a Flip Chip in my baby and it was a snap! Took about 10 minutes to get the computer out, half hour to clean the contacts and 10 more minutes to put everything back. Thanks to Mike Troyer and his guys for very good directions included with the chip. I love it!

Hi Bob,

Glad to hear you're enjoying your Superchip.

I just took a gander at your signature, that vehicle has some serious lift to it now, between the suspension & body lifts! That gives you a rather commanding view of things.

Have fun & thanks for your post,

Question

Mike, quick question. My program on my chip requires me to run 91 octane, right? I think I'm having a little brain fade since I last talked to you. Thanks,
Bob

Hi Bob,

You have the multi-octane setup in the Flip Chip, if memory serves, so that means that on Side 1 it's set up for 87 octane, and then Side 2 needs to be run on premium gas. On Side 2, you need to run 91 or higher, you can run 91, 92, 93 or 94 octane gas.

Most of the premium gasolines are 93 octane here in the East, so you may not find any 91. Or, you may find both, especially if there is "gasahol" in your area, and your state does have some of that. Anytime you have a choice, use the best quality fuel of the highest octane. I don't mean to go to extremes, I wouldn't pick say, Sunoco Ultra 94 over say, a Texaco at 92 or 93 octane, but I would use 91 octane only if you do not have access to anything higher, like 92 or 93.

Good luck!
