No code

I cant find the code for my 2000 F350 V10 5 speed... It is not on the passenger side or the driver side. I know it is suppose to be a 4 letter/digit code. Any suggestions????

Hi tlapan93,

Ok, no problem, let's go over this. On the Super Duty trucks, the first place to look for the code is:

Open the DRIVER's door, and then look in the front part of the door frame, in the area of the door hinges, and there you should see the code sticker with 3 letters followed by 1 number.

If your code sticker is missing, then you simply go to the computer itself. The first thing to check, since it's the easiest, is to see if there is a code sticker on the back of the computer, which is located inside the cabin, to the right of the emergency brake pedal, under a black plastic shroud that is held in place by two 7 mm bolts. Remove those 7mm bolts, and then you can move that black shroud around a bit, and you'll see the computer underneath, which is a galvanized aluminum "box", rectangular in shape. There is normally a small code sticker on the back of the computer that you can see once you move the black plastic shroud that covers the ECU (ECU is your powertrain computer).

If you still can't find it, then you'll need to just remove the computer to see the code sticeker that is on top of every Ford ECU, and that's pretty easy too. For the directions on how to do that, give us a call or just shoot us an email & we'll go over that with you, ok?

Good luck!
