Faulty ECU

I posted this in another part of the forum

I have a problem! I seem to have corrupted my engine control unit when i changed tunes and need a replacement ECU. Dealer has been trying for two days to flash it and now says I need a new ECU. Problem is the dealer can't tell me when it will be in stock. I have the part number and the vin number. Where can i get a replacement ECU. I need it BAD!! Thank you!

Go to car-part.com, enter 2007 Ford Truck F-150, put in your zip code, and search for Engine Computer. Have your part number handy, you have to choose from a whole bunch of them. This is a junkyard search engine.

Use a search engine and search for ECU Repair.

I ended up getting a used ECU from Flagship one in New York. It took about ten days for them to program and ship the ECU. Had the dealer install and check it prior to firing it up. All went well and it seems to be running fine. It will be a while before I consider custom tunes again......

I have a 2005Dodge Magnum Hemi I bought new and I have had a Superchips tuner program for a long time. I wanted to change the tire diameter or something and I failed to completely connect the tuner and corrupted my ecu program. I reinstalled the stock program and then reloaded the superchips program and fixed it.

I don't know what happened Roadie. My SF3 tunner could not talk to the ECU. The dealer could not get it to respond either.
