How do I find out if the strategy code has been updated for my PCM?

My 05 5.4L was reflashed by the dealer back in 2009 against my directions. I had to get new tunes since the strategy changed. I'd like to update these tunes but the tuner wants to charge for new tunes, although I have made no mods during this time. If I am to pay for new tunes and not an update I may as well have the latest strategy.

 

should display on your programmer? Who are you using for tunes? They should walk you straight to it since you already had new tunes after the dealer flash. NOW if you are wanting to change the PCM strategy then YES you would need NEW tunes...not updated but NEW tunes.
If all is well....leave it alone. The latest strategy = exactly what....usually nothing more than an emissions update...that your tuner is going to overwrite for performance anyway.
