Angry another check engine light question

I decided to remove and clean the fuel injectors on my '93 F-150 (5.8 liter). All went well except that, during the successful test drive, my check engine light came on. I don't have any experience with code readers but can buy one if someone can tell me which type to get and what to do with it to clear the code. thanks!

You don't need a code reader, all you need is a jumper wire and test light or analog voltmeter.

You need to do key on engine off and key on engine running tests.

To clear codes, disconnect the battery for a few minutes.

Don't even need the meter or test light. Use the CEL and and a paper clip and practice your counting skills. All you have to do is ground the STI plug (or connect it to the signal return pin, same thing) and then turn the key to RUN without starting the engine for the KOEO test. You also have to shut the A/C to OFF.

To clear codes on a an EEC-IV, pull the jumper while the codes are being transmitted. No need to futz with the battery.

Just follow the directions and practice reading the flashes before you reset anything.

Thanks to you both, I will post results. I have figured out part of project's instructions but what do CEL and EEC-IV mean?

Thanks again for the help. It was throwing EGR codes which I cleared by disconnecting the jumper after recording all info. I assume it was due to the work I did. Maybe I should have disconnected the battery before R&R the injectors?
