Superchips for '01 F150s
Superchips for '01 F150s
I have seen and read a lot of different threads and articles about the superchips available for todays Ford Trucks. What I haven't seen is anything mentioning the 2001 model year trucks. Are there any superchip products available for the 5.4l 2001 F150? If anyone knows of a product, please let me know.
Thanks,

They are availible.
Check the passenger side door jam for the computer code, and post it on here. If its got a code, Mike has a chip for it

Hi SlvrnblckF150,
Welcome to F-150 Online, we're glad you decided to register for the message boards & join us here!
Yes, the Superchip is available for the 2001's as well, in fact, we've already released some of the 2002 Ford Super Duty truck applications already, like the Powerstroke diesels.
Each Superchip is programmed to precisely match the exact computer code in each individual vehicle, so we will need to know your vehicle's computer code, and that is very easy to find. Just go to the passenger side of the vehicle, open the front passenger door, and then look on the A-pillar, that's the front part of the door frame, in the area of the door hinges. There you should see a sticker that has 3 letters followed by 1 number on it, and that is your computer code.
To place your order for the Superchip, it's very easy, just click on the link just below in our signature line, and it will take you right to our online ordering system for the Superchip. Or, you can always just give us a call directly, our contact info is below as well.
We look forward to working with you, & best of luck with your 2001 F-150!

Hi crazybilly,
Yes, we have the Superchip available for that SVB2-code truck, we have them for almost any Ford vehicle that is computer controlled and fuel injected, there are only a few exceptions.
We tend to get them done pretty quickly, so that you don't end up havint to wait a whole model year or longer before you can get one, we try to get each new model year of these trucks done just as quickly as we possibly can.
Your SVB2 code has been out for some time, it's not particularly "new" even though it's for the 2001, and there are many other SVB2-code vehecles on the roads by now, as that code came out months and months ago. Oor own 2001 5.4 F-150 Lariart ORP here at Performance is an SVB1, a code that has been used for 2 model years, which does't happen often. The point being, the SVB series of codes is very well known, and the Superchips for them have been shipping for some time, so we can easily get your new Superchip on it's way to you for that vehicle.
To place your order for the Superchip, you can either give us a call or you can just use our online ordering system right here, and the link to take you there is just below in our signature line.
Have a great weekend,

DL,
Diablos are nice, but from what Ive heard, the shifts arent as firm and the power isnt as good. Superchips makes each code unique, with a good fine tuned program. Dont be afraid to talk to Mike, being a young man like myself, he even spoke to me

The man is not going to stear you worng and sell you something you dont want or need. Do your home work and read some of the other threads that is what this web site is all about. Hi 5.4TritonORP,
Nice vehicle by the way, we have one just like it, except for the color!
These ORP's have the tallest tires you can get on an F-150 from the factory, 2000 rpm is 76 mph in Overdrive, which is a bit tall for my tastes.
The next place to look for your code is to go to the back of the computer, which is inside the cabin on the passenger side, just above the passenger's kick panel. It's a rectangular-shaped aluminum "box", and it will be held against it's mounting bracket/plate by a small black plastic pressure clip. Simply remove that clip, which allows the computer to move (don't move it much, as it's still attached to it's wiring harness on the front of the computer (ECU), under the hood behind the battery) and then look on the back of the computer where that clip was covering up, and there you should see another code sticker. If you don't find it there, shoot us an email or give us a call & we'll go over how to remove your computer from your vehicle, so you can get a look at the big code sticker that is on top of all Ford ECU's. The way they are mounted in these '97 & up F-150's, the top becomes the right side, so you can't see it without removing the ECU, but you should have a sticker on the back of the ECU, making that a mute point hopefully.
Good luck, & give us a shout if you need more help!

Hi Dan,
You're very welcome, anytime!
To la23602:
No, the Superchip does not affect your new vehicle warranty, nor do most other simple bolt-ons like K&N air filters, airbox kits & cat-back exhaust systems. The only time they can legally deny a warranty claim over the use of aftermarket parts is if the aftermarket part was the sole cause of a failure; in other words, it has to actually cause *damage* to the vehicle. So it all gets down to just exactly what parts you're going to install do to the vehicle, if they will damage the vehicle or not. If they damage the vehicle, then it's not fair to make the automaker pay for that of course, but as long as the aftermarket parts do not actually damage the vehicle, then your warranty remains fuly intact, by law.
